The above four pictures are screenshots of A Finger of Value
— a motion poem with ideals that matter, which is the third of
five motion poems.
The 24-line black-on-grey representations are original GW-BASIC output,
the 25-line green-on-black ones have been generated with QBasic.
(See
A Hand with Myriad Digits for more
details.)
Where a particular person is addressed, it is Ronnie, who may be male,
female, both or neither.
The last screenshot clearly demonstrates how a randomizer in computer
poetry may not only select a succession of lines which is new and

exactly the same as a previous one, in this case with no more than one new
line in between.
